In this video I m going to discuss about Types of dog shampoo and soap and also bathing tips for dogs and puppies….
The first rule of dog bathing is not to use a human shampoo. The pH of dog skin is very different to that of human skin.
Human skin falls into a pH range of 5.2 to 6.2, fairly acidic, and human shampoos and soaps are made to maintain that balance.
Dog skin falls into a pH range of 6.2 to 7.2, fairly Neutral Side ( Alkaline), and Dog shampoos and soaps are made to maintain that balance.
So,Dog shampoos should be in the neutral range, around 7 .Shampoos formulated for humans are much more acidic than those for dogs, Using a human shampoo can upset the balance of a dog's skin.
A highly important component of skin is what is called the acid mantle. Acidic Layer- lightly acidic layer that covers the skin, serving as a barrier and prevent the entry of bacteria and viruses in to dog skin and Body.Human shampoo and Soap Disrupt or damage the Acid Mantle of dog skin leads to Skin and other infections.

General Dog Bathing Guidelines
I recommend you bathe a dog with normal skin once a month with dog shampoo or dog soap. If you want to bathe more often than once a month, use a soap-free or moisturizing shampoo to prevent the skin from becoming dry. Do not bathe your dog more than once a week, unless recommended by your vet.
