Alpena, Mich. --- Over the weekend, family, friends, and members of the Alpena community gathered to honor the life of Samantha Schrader. It was the fifth year for Sam's Gift, a fundraiser that provides scholarships for future Alpena Community College students. The event raised $10,500 for future ACC students. That equates to 21 scholarships. Folks could go bowling, play games, and buy tickets to try and win prizes. The event was $3,000 shy of hitting it's goal of $40,000 over five years.
