As we get older, we may face health conditions that need to be treated on a regular basis. As a result, we need to play an active role in our health care management. According to K-State Research and Extension adult development and aging specialist Erin Yelland, older adults need to understand why they’re taking a medication, how to take it properly, the potential side effects, and how to properly dispose of outdated or unused medications. Sound Living is a weekly public affairs program addressing issues related to families and consumers. It is hosted by Jeff Wichman. Each episode shares the expertise of K-State specialists in fields such as child nutrition, food safety, adult development and aging, youth development, family resource management, physical fitness and more.
