War of Words: Second Session of 15th Legislative Assembly highlights
The 2019 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly election were held in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh on 11 April 2019 for constituting the fifteenth Legislative Assembly in the state. They were held alongside the 2019 Indian general election.
The Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan with his alliance between Communist Party of India, Communist Party of India (Marxist), Bahujan Samaj Party and the incumbent Telugu Desam Party's chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, YSR Congress Party Chief Y. S. Jaganmohan Reddy were the main contenders. Y. S. Jaganmohan Reddy's YSR Congress Party won the polls by winning 151 seats out of 175 seats, securing almost 86% of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly.
Y. S. Jaganmohan Reddy, the Chief of YSR Congress Party was unanimously voted as their Legislature leader of YSR Congress Party, and was invited to form the government by Governor of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana E. S. L. Narasimhan. It's the second assembly in Andhra Pradesh after the bifurcation of the state into Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
