Amazon rainforest burning at record rate | Explained
Amazon Varshavan kyo Jal Raha hai? What is the Amazon Rainforest...
The Amazon rainforest, also known in English as Amazonia or the Amazon Jungle, is a moist broadleaf tropical rainforest in the Amazon biomethat covers most of the Amazon basin of South America. This basin encompasses 7,000,000 km2(2,700,000 sq mi), of which 5,500,000 km2(2,100,000 sq mi) are covered by the rainforest. This region includes territory belonging to nine nations.
The majority of the forest is contained within Brazil, with 60% of the rainforest, followed by Peru with 13%, Colombia with 10%, and with minor amounts in Venezuela, Ecuador, Bolivia, Guyana, Suriname and French Guiana. Four nations have "Amazonas" as the name of one of their first-level administrative regions and France uses the name "Guiana Amazonian Park" for its rainforest protected area. The Amazon represents over half of the planet's remaining rainforests,[1] and comprises the largest and most biodiverse tract of tropical rainforest in the world, with an estimated 390 billion individual trees divided into 16,000 species.
What is the Reson.......
The Amazon Forests has been blazing for days now. The smoke has canopied the whole area with choking dark smoke and atmosphere. The situation is so extremely critical that on Monday morning the whole of Brazil was under the cloud of dark smoke that didn’t let any Sunlight in. It was night, in the morning, in Brazil. The lungs of the earth are basically on fire so huge that it is clearly visible from space. If it continues burning at this rate then it’s not long before the whole balance of gases and elements on earth will be overthrown. We all will be standing in front of judgment day.
Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, in particular, has come under intense scrutiny for his controversial ownership of Brazil’s majority share of the rainforest.
Fires are a regular and natural occurrence in the Amazon at this time of year. Taking advantage of this time many farmers and companies cause many more man-made fires. Environmentalists and non-governmental organizations have said the sudden surge of fires (More than that from natural occurrence) cannot be a natural phenomenon and it has to be the farmers who set the fire to clear land for pastures and woodcutters for its wood. Brazil’s National Institute for Space Research (INPE) spotted more than 9,500 new forest fires in Brazil since August 15 alone.
Critics also say that the President supports such acts for clearing more area for farming, mining, and other construction projects. Recent Evidence was taken also shows that deforestation has been skyrocketing under Jair Bolsonaro. The rate of forest destruction soared more than 278 percent in July compared with the same month a year ago.
