Currawinya National Park 2/4 - Engine of Steam, Iron Hut, Third Time Lucky

Currawinya National Park 2/4 - Engine of Steam, Iron Hut, Third Time Lucky A 13 Day Epic Adventure exploring Currawinya National Park in outback Queensland. Join the journey as I uncover Currawinya's secrets, in part 2 revealing the relics at Pump Hole bush camping area, then traverse the 53km Beefwood road to Beefwood Hut stockmans camp and arrive at Myninya campgrounds.

Pump Hole bush camping area has several pieces of machinery including a stunning portable steam engine and water pump. Pump Hole has plenty of birdlife to admire, including the odd Pelican, and a visit from some feral goats.

The 53km Beefwood road crosses through the park, offering green gardens, stockyards, the simplistic Beefwood Hut stockmans camp with original cast iron oven, and dams to visit. A rocky plataeu reveals a grand view of the park, before again decending into the soft red desert sands.

Join me in part 2 for my discoveries of what Currawinya has to offer the outback traveller.
