I'm making Snake Juice, the new Kahlúa Style premium Liqueur from Tom Haverford, owner of the Snake Hole Lounge. **********************************
Take a little trip with me down to Pawnee Indiana, home of the premier new night spot The Snake Hole. Partial owner Tom Haverford has just launched his new Premium Kahlúa Style Liqueur which he made by "Mixing a bunch of alcohol and some other junk" together. Today I recreate Snake Juice.
Obviously I'm talking about Park's and Recreation today, a show that's been off the air a few years but which remains near and dear to many hearts, including my own. The Snake Hole has got to be one of the worst names for a club ever and yet he manages to top himself by coming to market with Snake Juice.
So Snake Juice is some kind of coffee liqueur that's made from many spirits, at least according to Tom Haverford. We know it's easy to drink, and strong. So strong and easy to drink that even Ron Swanson, long famed of his tolerance for alcohol, get's completely silly drunk.
Actually everyone gets silly drunk. April becomes Janet Snakehole and stops speaking English, Burt Macklin makes and appearance, and Leslie and Ann have a big fight over dudes and stuff. The hangover the next day is the stuff of legends, so proceed with caution.
You're going to need to make some coffee syrup for this one, the recipe I use goes like this:
Coffee Syrup
2 parts ground coffee
2 parts sugar
1 part water
Combine in a pan and bring to boil
let cool
Strain
Snake Juice
1 oz. -or- 30 ml. Coffee Syrup
1 oz. -or- 30 ml. Scotch
1 oz. -or- 30 ml. Cognac
.5 oz. -or- 15 ml. Lillet Blanc
.25 oz. -or- 8 ml. Créme De Cacao
1 dash Absinthe
Stir over ice
Strain into a snifter or wine glass
Enjoy carefully
