Sowing the Seeds of Art (2019)

Sowing the Seeds of Art (2019) The farming community of McPherson, Kansas, was the unlikely setting for an art movement that caught national and international attention in the 1920s. At the center were Lindsborg artist Birger Sandzen and a seed merchant-turned-art dealer, Carl Smalley, who organized annual art exhibitions and helped students acquire original works of art to hang on the walls of the schools. Based on the 2016 Kansas Notable Book "For the Sake of Art: The Story of a Kansas Renaissance" by Cynthia Mines.
