For the latest news across Belize, visit: Coast Guard Officer, Brian Orellana, is behind bars tonight. He has been criminally charged for allegedly attacking Christina Teul, hitting her with a handgun and firing the weapon. Orellana was charged with two counts of aggravated assault, one count of wounding and one count of discharging a firearm in public. He stands accused of appearing at Teul’s residence in the San Martin Area of Belmopan on Monday morning and starting a heated argument with her over a dispute involving her brother. The argument escalated with Orellana allegedly pulling out an unlicensed firearm and threatening Teul and firing shots at her son. That’s the version of the Teul family and as they say, every story has two sides. Today Orellana’s mother Rosita Orellana, spoke to the media in defense of her son. According to Rosita, it was the Teul who started the argument by stoning her son while he was riding by on a bicycle.
