Metro workers have walked off the job in Paris, spelling chaos for hundreds of thousands of commuters. The strike is a protest against the governments' plan to implement a "universal" pension system that would do away with dozens of separate schemes for different professions. Ten out of Paris's 16 metro lines and two major regional train lines were totally shut during peak hours. This is expected to be the biggest metro strike since 2007 in Paris.
