Pontypool & Blaenavon Railway '150th Anniversary Steam Gala - Built in Leeds' 13|09|2019 The Pontypool & Blaenavon Railway held its annual Autumn Steam Gala over the 13th - 15th September 2019.

Two themes for the gala for this year was 150th Anniversary of the first train to Blaenavon by the London & North Western Railway and built in Leeds with two visiting locos joining the railway home fleet on intensive service of main & vintage passenger service plus demonstration mineral trains.

The three Leeds built locos in action during the first day of the gala were...

Hunslet 0-6-0ST No.1873 East Moors No.18 "Jessie" (running nameless)
Hunslet 0-6-0ST No.1873 "Brookes No.1"(visiting from the Middleton Railway)
Hudswell Clarke 0-6-0ST No.1208 "Illingworth"(visiting from the Embsay & Bolton Abbey Steam Railway and running as "Harold")

The other two locomotives that wasn't in action on the Friday was 'Bagnall' 0-6-0ST No.3061 "Empress" and Andrew Barclay 0-4-0ST No.1385 "Rosyth No.1" were in action over the Saturday & Sunday
