The Architectural History of the University of Cambridge and of the Colleges of Cambridge and Eton, by Robert Willis.
Published 1886, Cambridge by C.J. Clay and Son at the University Press.
3 volumes, c. 2,200 pages.

With separate folio Plans volume containing 29 folding maps, several with colored removable glassine overlays covering original early plans. Several finely printed gravure plates throughout printed on heavy paper stock.

A thorough and scholarly work which is still useful today. A classic, in depth study, a model of scholarship.

Splendid, clean condition. As if the set was placed in a glass case 100+ years ago and was just removed recently. Any flaws to bindings or contents very small and minor, unworthy of comment. Gilt is bright, a most attractive set.

Books measure: 10 3/4" H X 7" W.
Set along the shelf measures: 8 1/8".
