Sabrina reports on Guam's weather as Supertyphoon Hagibis approaches NMI According to the 5:00pm update from the National Weather Service, Hagibis is now a super typhoon. A Typhoon Warning remains in effect for Saipan, Tinian, Alamagan and Pagan Islands in the CNMI. Typhoon conditions, including destructive winds of 74 mph or more, are expected later this evening. Damaging winds of 39 mph or more are expected soon. A Tropical Storm Warning remains in effect for Guam, Rota and Agrihan Islands. Tropical storm conditions, including damaging winds of 39 to 73 mph, are expected tonight. Super typhoon Hagibis is packing maximum sustained winds of 150mph with gusts up to 185mph. It is currently moving west-northwest at 15mph. Typhoon force winds extend outward from the center up to 50 miles. Tropical storm force winds extend outward from the center up to 175 miles. As of 5:45pm Guam was still in COR3 after the Governor made the declaration at 1:00pm. Island residents are urged to start taking necessary precautions as soon as possible. Guam is expected to start experiencing damaging winds late tonight or early Tuesday morning.
