Dating Red Flag: Blowing Hot and Cold Players of the Hot and Cold Game

When the relationship starts, he is the sweetest, most attentive, most romantic guy you've ever met. He is responsive with texts and calls, he initiates dates, he never misses an opportunity to spend time with you on a date or even just to chill. He seems interested in you and everything about you. He swears you are just what he's been looking for, and his repetitive words and actions stir your imagination to where you start envisioning that he is the man you've been looking for all your life. You can see you two living happily ever after, both madly in love and best friends rolled into one.

Then suddenly, usually some time after you let him know that you are emotionally committed and/or sleep with him, he pulls the rug out from under you and the cold phase begins. He becomes distant, indifferent, and the time he spends communicating with you are minimal at best. He does just enough to keep you close, but not TOO close. Therefore, most of your texts will go unread, your messages and calls unreturned or returned days later. The fairy tale dream that he created start dissipating right before your eyes.
