LIVERPOOL took advantage of another VAR cock-up, as Fabinho scored goal, just seconds after Manchester City should have been awarded a penalty.

Trent Alexander-Arnold clearly handled the ball inside his own area, but it was not spotted and the Reds broke to take the lead.

Fans were expecting to see VAR award the penalty, but unbelievably the video referee did not overturn the on-field decision.

One fuming Ciztien tweeted: "How is this not handball? I demand an explanation. We’ve been robbed. VAR is a joke."
And former footballer David Meyler added: "I think it’s a handball Can’t believe they’ve not spotted it."

Although former City striker Robbie Fowler did offer a potential explanation, tweeting: "Deffo handball.. but did it come off Bernardo's hand onto Trents".

Fabinho took his goal brilliantly, as a botched City clearance fell to him and he unleashed a brilliant long-range drive.

Manchester City were on the receiving end of a poor referee decision, and Liverpool instantly made them pay through Fabinho's brilliant strike, before Mo Salah doubled the lead from a questionable position.

Fans were excited about the clash of England's best two sides, with undefeated Liverpool going into the game six points, ahead of champions City at Anfield.
