Today I'll be melting aluminum cans at home in my backyard foundry. I have been collecting these aluminum beer and soda cans from friends and have been saving them for some time. I'll melt them down and turn them into huge pure aluminum ingots. I will also electro-etch an eagle into the finished polished ingot. This is a very simple DIY project that anyone can do with the proper tools. The whole melting process took about an hour and used a quarter tank of propane.
