Forces sweetheart Anne Shelton proving that she could sing anything, ballads, torch songs, pop and now we have novelty and cha cha cha.
One of the greatest singers ever from the British Iles Anne was somewhat over shadowed after the war by Vera Lynn and Gracie Fields though she did manage a UK #1 in 1956 with 'Lay Down Your Arms'. This was a novelty song on the flip of her 1957 recording of 'Absent Friends' previously uploaded in the days when I couldn't film videos. Somehow this has slipped through the net until now.
