Let's ensure justice for the victims of corruption

Let's ensure justice for the victims of corruption In France foreign leaders spend embezzled public funds and corrupt proceeds on luxury purchases, such as high-end art, real estate, mansions in the heart of Paris, villas on the French Riviera, yachts…. This is the “ill-gotten gains” scandal.
so ten years ago, Transparency France filed a criminal complaint against several of these leaders. In 2017, it was a first victory with the conviction of Teodorin Nguema Obiang, vice-president of my country and son of the president, for embezzling more than €150 million of public money.

If the decision is confirmed by the Court of Appeal, how can we ensure that citizens in these countries can one day benefit from these millions of euros obtained through corruption?

There is an urgent need now for new laws to be put in place so that assets confiscated can be returned to the victim populations. We must:
o Convince decision-makers to adapt the French legal framework
o Come up with concrete solutions on how to restitute the confiscated assets.

To make it real, we need 12 000 euros.
