Shanann Watts made multi-level marketing (MLM) a big part of her marriage and motherhood starting in January 2016.

Shanann & Chris’ 1st “Lifestyle Getaway” was to New Orleans on October 7, 2016.

It would be the first Thrive-related trip for the couple.

In the wake of the Watts Family murders, Showtime premieres the MLM-based “On Becoming A God In Central Florida” after being stalled for years.

The dark comedy stars Kirsten Dunst as Krystal Stubbs and “explores how direct sales schemes can ruin families.”

“In Krystal…writers Robert Funke and Matt Lutsky have created a truly delicious, sometimes diabolical female character — a dirt poor, very fierce young woman who is relentless in her pursuit of the American dream inside of an Amway-like company,” the late TriStar TV topper Suzanne Patmore Gibbs said in her last interview with Deadline before her death.

“There is something incredibly compelling, heartbreaking and absurd about both she and the lost souls these multi-level marketing companies prey on, who look to find community, respect and a sense of self in all the wrong places.”

You might think some people are born lucky.

Well let me disabuse you of that particular notion.

Luck isn’t something that happens to you.

Luck is something that you make happen.

You’re going to learn what you are made of.

The pelican’s an animal both wily and fierce.

She’s graceful as she soars thru the skies searching for food.

She observes. She plans.

Attacks! Learn from the pelican.

Stubbs is a minimum-wage-earning water park employee who will eventually scheme her way up the ranks of Founders American Merchandise: the cultish, flag waving, multi-billion dollar pyramid scheme that drove her family to ruin. Starring Kirsten Dunst, Beth Ditto, and Ted Levine. Premiering Sunday, August 25 at 10/9c only on SHOWTIME.

Set in a small town near Orland in 1992, On Becoming A God in Central Florida follows Krystal Stubbs (Dunst), a minimum-wage water park employee who lies, schemes and cons her way up the ranks of Founders American Merchandise (FAM) — the cultish, flag-waving, multibillion-dollar pyramid scheme that drove her to ruin in the first place, run by the powerful Obie Garbeau II (Levine).

Determined to make a better life for herself, Krystal dives deep into FAM and develops a tangled relationship with FAM’s most loyal and fanatical follower Cody (Pellerin), until her business begins to affect those closest to her, including Ernie (Rodriguez), her affable water park boss, and his FAM-skeptic wife Bets (Ditto).

On Becoming a God in Central Florida will seemingly provide answers throughout all nine of its one-hour episodes.

According to the Washington Post, Le-Vel made it past $1 billion in profits via their MLM structure. The 8-week “Thrive Experience” found people using #Thrivin hashtags on social media, allegedly showing just how much better their lives became after experiencing the products.

Now that Showtime has greenlit the anti-MLM “On Becoming A God in Central Florida”…

Do you think a network will greenlight a series about Shanann & Chris Watts?

Jeremiah 23:24

“Who can hide in secret places so that I cannot see them?” declares the Lord. “Do not I fill heaven and earth?” declares the Lord.

“Thank you, Le-Vel,” they all screamed.

Chris Watts laughed a little uncomfortable laugh in the opening 5-second video.

It seems as though Shanann switched to going live more often on Facebook at this point in her life.

She likely felt free on that first trip to New Orleans, getting away from it all in the first highly-anticipated “exotic vacation” that she would speak of in future videos.

Having missed a honeymoon with Chris, Shanann may have also felt free - like the fresh start that bankruptcy participants sometimes feel - having debts discharged whilst saving their beloved home that would tragically become the site of her murder.

“Financial Freedom.” Rah rah Thrive stuff on the way.

All the hallmarks of an MLM with inspirational trips that try and get their adherents to drink the Kool-aid, bring in more hunbots, buy their merch, and buy their dreams.

Le-Vel has God talk in the mix, since some prayers from the stage were captured on video, praying to God but not mentioning Jesus.

Welcome to the stage LeVel’s co-owners, co-founders, co-CEOs, comes the eventual build-up.

“Le-Vel founders, Paul Gravette and Jason Camper created Le-Vel and the THRIVE premium ... co-owners, co-Founders, co-CEOs ... using a higher level of nutrition to formulate Thrive. It was the key to Le-Vel's success from the beginning,” they say.

Congratulations for being here, you’ve earned it, they tell the crowd, talking about “time away from your family, your children to build your future with this company.”
