Born and raised in Mexico City, "SVA" now "Practical People" is a producer, guitarist, and songwriter currently based in Los Angeles. His thought-provoking lyrics and melancholy rock style combine on the debut SVA album “To Be An Elephant,” a collaborative project with musicians, especially vocalists, designed to make the listener question automation and conformity.
After studying music in Boston, SVA started working as a co-producer and audio engineer at Los Angeles’s Silver Gun Records in 2016, most notably co-writing and producing on the project Shikaka with friend and label owner Alexis Rodriguez.
"To Be An Elephant" is influenced by Pink Floyd, Radiohead, David Bowie, and Gustavo Cerati, with 70's and 80's funk roots from SVA's time playing in a funk band in Boston as well as latin rhythms.
