Did you know that there are 15 Member Nations who form part of the United Nations Security Council. Five of those are Permanent Members- The United States, The United Kingdom, France, Russia and China…..the rest are Non-Permanent Members that serve on a two-year rotation. Africa has three Non-Permanent seats…..Niger and Tunisia will replace Cote D’Ivoire and Equatorial Guinea in January 2020, while the third seat, currently occupied by South Africa comes up for replacement in January 2021.
