Many of the quarterbacks that fall into this category are players who have breakout years and teams expect them to take the next ‘step’, but instead, they find out that their signal-caller has a ceiling that he just can’t breakthrough.

Everyone knows these guys… Guys like Kirk Cousins or Matt Stafford – they will throw for 4000+ yards and put up numbers across the board, but if you poll GMs or fans or anyone, really, I doubt you will find many people confident in their abilities to win meaningful games.
This is because there is SO MUCH that goes into playing quarterback at the NFL level. Arm talent simply isn’t enough… Quarterbacks need to be able to lead their team… To get the entire offense on the same page and to serve as a liaison between the coaching staff and the unit.

And that is where so many of these guys fall between the cracks. It isn’t just Stafford or Cousins, though. There are also some other quarterbacks around the league that are just plain overrated – and Green Bay’s Aaron Rodgers is one of them.

I know what you are thinking – ‘Aaron Rodgers’ – the seven time Pro Bowler? The two time All Pro? The Super Bowl Champion? How could HE be overrated…?

Let’s be clear about this – I’m not saying he’s a bad quarterback, but at this point in his career the media seems completely oblivious to the fact that he isn’t that top tier level quarterback that he once was.

And when you compare his production to the perception – it is clear how overrated he has become.
