Volta Charging was, for me, just another L2 network serving areas other than north Boston until recently. A recent wave of expansion has seen Volta locations pop up all over eastern Massachusetts, however, so when they added stations at our local grocery store and movie theater, I knew it was time for a vid. Subsequent news has confirmed that Volta will be rolling out free fast charging in the months ahead, with a pilot site identified for Connecticut and expansion expected in California, Chicago, and Colorado soon after.
This video takes a look at this growth, the company's business model, and why they might just make free charging a less controversial subject in the EV community.
