McAllen High swimming caps a terrific year!

The McAllen High swim team placed 2nd in District for both the Boys and Girls divisions, with individual District Champions in several events in 2019. At Regionals, the boys got 1st place in the 200-meter Medley Relay ( James Moore, Jace Lyon, Nilton Dos Santos, Diego Davila) and 200-m Freestyle Relay (Nilton Dos Santos, Diego Rodriguez, Diego Davila, James Moore). Jace Lyon got first in the 100-m Breaststroke, James Moore got 2nd in both 50-m freestyle and 100-m freestyle individual events. The girl's team fought hard and dropped their times – Coach Gutierrez is extremely proud.

This was Coach Gutierrez first year and he wants to personally thank his team for working hard all year. He hopes to see all underclassmen back next year ready to work hard to get better. For the graduating Seniors, he wishes them the best and wants to thank them for all their hard work and dedication. McAllen ISD offers 15 sports for high school athletes.
